The German Code for Sustainability (DNK) is an internationally applicable standard for reporting on aspects of sustainable development. This is a voluntary instrument, but the German federal government is supporting the spread of this transparency standard, thereby helping to root sustainable business practices. The Code, which includes 20 criteria, is harmonized with existing international voluntary reporting standards and is applicable to companies operating in global markets, as well as to enterprises from other countries.
