GreenHouse for Social Innovators for Young Entrepreneurs from Belarus, Ukraine and Georgia

This gGmbH IBB in Dortmund (Germany), the Georgian Heritage Crafts Association (GHCA), and a non-profit organisation and social enterprise ‘Ukraine without Waste’ with the financial support from the European Union are launching a project “GreenHouse for Social Innovators”. For two years the project “GreenHouse for Social Innovators” will be strengthening social enterprises from Georgia, Belarus and Ukraine by aligning them with a community of skilled business mentors and potential investors through Bootcamp events and business meetups. It will enhance their economic resilience and positive social and environmental impact through targeted counselling support and business development advice. The project will strengthen intraregional networks and partnerships between young social innovators from project countries and their counterparts from Germany and the Netherlands. The major scope of activities will take place on the territory of Georgia, Poland and Lithuania. The best international trainers will be invited to from EU-based impact labs and social business associations to contribute.

Circular Economy Development Project

The project “Capacity Building for the Development of Circular Economy in the Regions of Belarus” was implemented during 2019-2020. The partners from the German side were the Dortmund International Education Center (IBB) and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy. The main Belarusian partners are the Research Economic Institute of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus and the BEROC Research Center. The project was implemented with the support of the Regional Foundation for Administrative Reforms in the Eastern Partnership Countries on behalf of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Project «SocBizAccelerator»

The SocBizAccelerator project, aimed at supporting Belarusian social enterprises in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and other modern challenges, was launched in June 2021. The goal of the project is to support social entrepreneurs and exchange experience with local and foreign colleagues. The project included two areas: trainings for representatives of social business and training of trainers as part of the system of support and development of social entrepreneurship. SocBizAccelerator was implemented by the Dortmund International Educational Center (Germany), the non-profit organization ODB Brussels (Belgium), the Social Entrepreneur School (Gomel, Belarus) and the Belarusian non-profit organization Svet Dobra with financial support from the German Foreign Ministry.

Belarus Support Program

The Belarus Support Program "Overcoming Borders" was founded in 2002 on the initiative of the Dortmund International Educational Center and the Minsk International Educational Center named after Johannes Rau. Over 20 years of cooperation, Belarusian and German partners have jointly developed and implemented more than 270 innovative projects in the fields of non-formal education, healthcare, social assistance and social entrepreneurship, ecology, energy and sustainable regional development. The FSP was implemented with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

Events for Future - sustainable event management

Events for Future is an educational course on sustainable event management organized by IBB "Johannes Rau" Minsk and IBB Dortmund in cooperation with the Center for Environmental Solutions. The participants of the course got acquainted with various approaches to sustainable events, successful Belarusian and international practices in the field of sustainable event management and put the acquired knowledge into practice. The training included practical knowledge in the field of sustainable events and event management, ready-made checklists for organizing events on the principles of sustainability, recommendations and feedback from course experts.

Educational platform IBB Dortmund

An educational platform on sustainable development based on the Moodle distance learning system is a proposal of the Minsk International Educational Center named after Johannes Rau and IBB Dortmund. The platform serves to support educational processes on sustainable development issues and is aimed at all persons interested in this subject. In this way, we want to contribute to the achievement of the goals of the new UNESCO program "Education for Sustainable Development: Towards achieving the SDGs - ESD 2030".
