The International Educational Center in Dormund was founded in 1990, the creators of the center set themselves the task of overcoming borders not only between countries, but also building bridges between different peoples and nations. For more than 20 years, the International Education Center in Dortmund has been offering educational trips, exchange programs, intercultural trainings and international conferences.

An important place in the work of the Dortmund WOC was occupied by projects in Belarus. Against the backdrop of the crimes committed by the Germans during World War II in Belarus, the central task of the Dortmund WOC is to work for reconciliation and joint understanding of history. Today, IBB is committed to sustainable development for the common good, helping to overcome borders and find new perspectives. Our work focuses on empowerment through the development of inclusive ways of thinking, dialogue and action, partnerships with various actors, consistent short, medium and long-term action strategies.

The IBB team has more than 120 permanent employees in Dortmund, Berlin, Minsk and Kharkov. We are supported by freelancers and experts, as well as curators who bring their skills and experience to our work. In Dortmund alone, the offer includes up to 100 seminars and training courses per year. Projects of various scales are being implemented: for example, in the period from 2002 to 2022, the Belarus Support Program supported 270 German-Belarusian partnership projects, from 2012 to 2016, several thousand people in more than 200 cities in Europe, in Ukraine, Belarus and Turkey took part in European weeks "For the future after Chernobyl and Fukushima".
